All mediation fees are charged per person
- The first meeting, the mediation information and assessment meeting (MIAM), is held on an individual basis to consider suitability for mediation. This lasts around 45-60 minutes.
- It costs a flat fee of £130.00 and if mediation cannot proceed, includes the issue of any signed court forms should these be required.
- If mediation goes ahead each session is booked for a minimum period of one hour.
- Financial mediations are booked for a longer period of one and a half hours
- The hourly fee for mediation is £130.00 per person, payable in advance of each session. This includes a written summary record of the meeting.
- The number of sessions will vary but the average is between three and five
- If a Parenting Plan is required, the drafting of this document usually takes at least an hour.
- If a financial settlement is agreed, two documents are produced for your benefit particularly if you aim to achieve a divorce. The first document is a Memorandum of Understanding, the second one is an Open Statement of Financial Information.
- Whilst the fee for these documents will vary depending on the complexity of your circumstances, the minimum time required is two hours but it is often longer.
- It is rare for an individual mediation bill to reach £1,000.00.
- The Ministry of Justice Mediation Voucher Scheme should be available to offset costs up to £500 per case for those cases including arrangements for children. Click HERE for further information.
- I do not offer Legally Aided mediation, but if you wish to access Legal Aid please visit the websites of either The Family Mediation Council or the Family Mediators Association and use the search facility.
